Freycinet Walking Tour
Immerse yourself in Freycinet National Park with this 5.5-hour guided walk. Discover the park's dramatic pink granite peaks, jewel-coloured waters, pure white sands, inspiring vegetation and abundant wildlife.

Departing from the Lodge, your dedicated guide will take you over the spectacular Hazards mountain range to the Wineglass Bay Lookout, where views of the iconic bay will be sure to astound you. After a quick photo (your guide will be sure to take a group shot to send to you later), you’ll make the short decent along the Eucalypt-lined track to the pristine white sands of Wineglass Bay beach. Here your guide will offer a short break to enjoy a hot drink and take in the breathtaking scenery.
The next leg will take you to the west of the peninsula to the stunning Hazards Beach. Leaving only your footprints, you will learn of the unique animals that call this special place home and the history behind its magnificent shores and pink granite peaks. From here, you will be guided to the southern-most point of the beach to enjoy a gourmet picnic lunch and wander along the beach looking for treasures.
After exploring the beach, jump aboard the Freycinet Aqua Taxi to see the peninsula from a different perspective as you journey back to the Lodge.

Frequently Asked Questions
Breakfast is included in my room rate. Can I have breakfast before the tour?
Yes. Breakfast is served from 7:00am in The Bay Restaurant. We recommend arriving between 7:00am and 7:30am to ensure you have plently of time to enjoy your breakfast before making your way across to the Hazards Lounge to meet your guide at 8:00am.
Can you cater to dietaries?
We are happy to cater to dietaries where possible. Please advise our team when you place your booking.
I am checking out on the day of the tour. What do I do with my luggage and/or vehicle?
Please check-out prior before meeting your guide in the lounge (reception is open from 7:00am). Complimentary luggage storage is available.
If you have a vehicle, Lodge staff will advise where to park prior to departing on the tour. Please allow ample time to check-out and have breakfast prior to your tour.
What do I need to bring for the tour?
Comfortable walking shoes and clothes (no denim or street shoes/sandals), sunhat, camera, lightweight towel/sarong and bathers (if swimming), any personal medications and your National Parks Pass (available for purchase at the Lodge). We advise that your day pack (with contents) should not weigh more than 5kg.
What equipment do the guides provide?
Day packs, rain jackets, water bottle, thermos, lunch, morning tea, first aid, sunscreen, water. Day packs and water bottles etc. will be offered during the briefing at the Lodge prior to departure.
How fit do I need to be?
Guests will need to be comfortable walking approximately 8-9 kilometres with a lightweight day pack along beaches, rocky headlands and stairs.
Will toilets be available?
Toilets are available at the northen end of Wineglass Bay beach (where we stop for morning tea) and at the southern end of Hazards Beach (where we stop for lunch). If nature calls in between these stops, your guide will be able to provide you with a bush toilet kit.
What happens if it rains or the weather is poor?
We have a number of alternative itinerary options suitable for different weather conditions. Your guide will contact you if changes to the itinerary are anticipated.
*National Parks Passes are not included. They can be purchased from the Freycinet National Park Visitor Centre, Freycinet Lodge or online.
*Each departure requires a minimum of two guests to depart. If booking as a solo walker and first booked on a date, we will advise that the trip is pending until it reaches our minimum number. If still not guaranteed a week prior to departure, you will have the option to change dates or be refunded in full.
