Do you offer an auto club discount?

Yes, Freycinet Lodge offers a 25% accommodation discount to all RACT members and a 15% discount to interstate and international auto club members. This discount is also offered at Cradle Mountain HotelStrahan Village and the RACT/RACV Hobart Apartment Hotel.

Can I dine at Freycinet Lodge if I am not staying at the property?

Yes, you are welcome to dine at Richardson’s Bistro at any time with no reservation required. You are also welcome to dine at The Bay restaurant and we recommend booking a table to avoid disappointment.

How far is it to the Wineglass Bay lookout and can I walk there?

You will need to drive 10 minutes to the Wineglass Bay trailhead car park and walk for approximately 45 minutes up to the lookout. We recommend you take sunscreen, insect repellent and water as there is no water source within the Freycinet National Park.

Do I need a National Parks pass?

Yes, you will require a Tasmanian National Parks pass (entry permit) if you are planning on staying overnight at Freycinet Lodge, as we are located within Freycinet National Park. If you are planning on visiting Freycinet Lodge for the day only, a pass is not required.

At Freycinet Lodge's reception, we can provide you with a 24 hour vehicle day pass for or an 8 week vehicle holiday pass.

Do I need to book for dinner?

If you would like to dine in The Bay restaurant, we recommend that you book with reception at the time of check-in. Our other dining option is Richardson’s Bistro, which is open until daily and does not require a booking.

Where is breakfast served?

Breakfast is served daily in our restaurant, overlooking Great Oyster Bay.

Are there any taxis in Coles Bay?

Unfortunately there are no taxis in Coles Bay but depending where you need to go, there is a water taxi and Coles Bay is only a 25 minute walk along Richardson Beach. For a longer journey we may be able to organise a personalised trip with a local private tour company.

Will my mobile phone work in Freycinet Lodge?

Telstra's is the main network used across Tasmania and is the only one that works in regional areas like Freycinet National Park. We have a public phone near reception, which is accessible 24 hours a day.

Can I access the balcony of Freycinet Lodge and enjoy a drink at sunset or do I have to be seated for dinner?

You're welcome to access the balcony at any time and drinks can be purchased from Hazards Bar. We recommend planning to take a few minutes to enjoy the sunset from the balcony as it is a wonderful sight.

Do you cater for weddings, groups and large events?

Yes! Freycinet Lodge is a superb destination for weddings, family reunions, group gatherings and events. You can find more information about weddings at the Lodge here.

Is Providore Wineglass open to the public?

Providore Wineglass and Freycinet Lodge's restaurants are open to all visitors every day.  Visitors are encouraged to come and enjoy a tasting, a drink, a meal or to simply enjoy the view from our balcony.

What kind of accommodation do you provide?

All of our accommodation consists of cabins scattered throughout the beautiful wilderness of the National Park. We have 60 cabins in total, some of which have ocean views and some have forest views.

Does Freycinet Lodge have WiFi?

We offer complimentary WiFi to all visitors in our main building. There is no password required.

Can I charge my electric car at Freycinet Lodge?

Yes! We have a Tesla charging station in our guest car parking. Please contact Freycinet Lodge reception prior your arrival to check availability.

What does reception look like and where do I check in?

Reception is the big building on your right as you come down our driveway. There is 15-minute parking outside reception for visitors or guests who are checking in.

Where can I park?

We have a guest car park on the right of the main building and you will be given a designated car park near your cabin at the time of check in.

Do your cabins have cooking facilities?

All cabins have a small fridge and tea and coffee making facilities. Our family cabins are equipped with a microwave, toaster and stove top in a fully equipped kitchen.

Do your rooms have hairdryers?

Yes, all of our cabins have a hairdryer in the en-suite bathroom.

Do your rooms have a mini bar?

Yes, all our cabins are equipped with a mini bar that includes a selection of soft drinks, Tasmanian wines, beers and snacks.

Do you have laundry facilities at Freycinet Lodge?

Yes, we have a guest laundry. A load of washing requires 4 x $1 coins, a load of drying requires the same. We supply washing powder for $3.

Do you cater for children?

Yes! Freycinet Lodge is very child friendly with cots, highchairs, DVD hire and all the board games you want during your holidays! We enjoy direct beach access to Richardson's Beach and have kids menus in both restaurants.

What are the hours of Freycinet Lodge reception?

Our reception is open daily from 7am until 10pm. If you are planning on arriving after reception hours, please contact us via phone or email to arrange a late check in.
